Zahir, Wendenstöcke

In the summer of 2018, my motivation was to see and climb as many different routes in the Alps as possible.

One of the 38 routes, in summer 2018, which interested me, was Zahir. I had the ideal rope partner Jonas Schild, who could already climb the route redpoint a long time ago.

The key pitch, which is relatively short at 20-25 meters and only vertical, felt extremely hard for my climbing style.

I tried to redpoint the route again a year later and realized that I would have to invest quite a bit of time and fine-tuning to be able to make a redpoint ascent.

Despite the difficulties I had, this vertical, extremely cramped climb fascinates me very much and could motivate me to try it a third time.
